There are stunning views of the Chao Phraya River available from the upper floors of the State Tower Building. The images in the post are obviously taken during the day but there equally stunning views of the great Bangkok River available at night. I will make that apart of a different post.
Bangkok is preparing for the Thailand Tourism Festival that will be in Lumpini Park in Downtown Bangkok on January 13th through the 17th. There will be great regional tastes of Thai food as well as a look at regional Thai culture, markets and destinations. The Festival is sponsored by the Tourism Authority of Thailand and should be great fun!
Taking advantage of a bright and sunny day in Bangkok to take a short trip to the Chao Phraya River. I hope you enjoy these photos of the river around the Taksin Bridge.

Yesterday evening I was enjoying the setting sun, and later, the full moon at a rooftop bar overlooking Wat Arun and some of the other must sees attractions in old Town Bangkok along the great Chao Phraya River. The bar was appropriately called the "Eagle Nest" but there were a few other rooftop bars adjacent to the Eagles Nest to choose from, all located directly across from Wat Arun with fantastic views. The bars are on top of some small boutique hotels with restaurants. I hope you enjoy the photos in this post as much as I enjoyed taking them.

MahaNakhon Building is a luxury mixed-use skyscraper currently under construction in the Sathon central business district of Bangkok, Thailand. When completed, scheduled for later this year, it will be the highest building here in Bangkok at 314 meters. The MahaNakhon Building is located next to the Chongnonsi BTS Commuter Train Station and about a half a kilometer from the intersection of Sathon and Naradhiwas Roads.
My photos show the current state of construction of the MahaNakhon Building, along with a look at the surrounding skyline. I will try to update this blog as the construction progresses.
